Ultra runner Kate Jayden

Event to raise money and awareness for the Ashbourne Refugee Community Support Group.

Kate ran 106 marathons in 106 days in an attempt to highlight the journey of a refugee from Syria to the U.K. She hopes this will encourage people to talk about the issues that impact these people, as well as others such as poverty in the U.K. By attempting to rehumanise the stories and faces of refugees, whilst highlighting the intersectionality of food poverty and hygiene poverty between refugees as well as Brits, she raised over £40,000 for charity and broke a world record. Kate shares some of the highlights, over a sausage roll and a beer! Join us from 6:30pm on 25 September, at St Oswalds Primary School, Ashbourne.

Tickets cost £10 which includes sausage roll and drink, with all profits going to ARCS, who help local refugees resettle in the community. Tickets can be bought from Natural Choice in Ashbourne, The Village Stores in Hartington, the Eventbrite link & on the door on the night. ARCS are a group of passionate volunteers, working to offer a safe home in Ashbourne to refugee families, and to support them in establishing their new life in our community.
