Ashbourne Adult Education presents a drawing and painting course. This is a 5 week course on Tuesday afternoons starting 28th Feb. Standard fee £58 (concessions available)

The course will provide an opportunity to develop your painting and drawing skills and techniques in a friendly, sociable environment. You will be given the support you require for your individual development. This course is for beginners or if you have some experience. Improve your wellbeing through creativity.

You will learn:

• Drawing and painting skills

• Composition, preparation and planning for finished pieces

• Different elements of drawing and painting including tone, tint, shading, line, colour, texture, proportion, etc.

• A variety of different themes including botanical, landscape, still life and portrait

• To research and develop techniques by studying well-known artists

• To experiment and appreciate the wellbeing benefits of being creative

There are no exams or formal assessments. There will be chance to ask questions and put what you have learned into practice. Your tutor will give you individual feedback during the course and you will be able to self-assess.

You will need to bring along art resources for this course.

You will be provided with a list of the materials and/or equipment you need for each session.

You may wish to wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy. You may wish to wear an apron.
