the vision

We want this website to be genuinely useful for locals and visitors....

  • To showcase Ashbourne’s attractions and history.
  • To make it easy to “shop local” and support the business community.
  • To be the go-to place for events and what’s on.
  • To be a platform for community groups.
  • And much, much more…

GET INVOLVED

This website was built from scratch and went live in 2021. It is still work-in-progress and is being updated and improved all the time. If you spot any mistakes or have any suggestions, or want to help,  please contact us. We need helpers as follows:

  • events champions to keep the what's on page up to date.
  • directory champions to keep the directory up to date.
  • a photographer / images manager, to create a vibrant library of images in the right size and format.
  • copywriters, to keep our text fresh and easy to read.
  • researchers for walks, history, bike rides, local features....

Website design & build

The website design is by Hannah from Wood & Co.‍

Joe Matkin did the initial build and now it is being maintained and updated by Sue.

Photography

Clive Booth provided the fabulous moody shots.

George Wood also provided some professional photo input.

Sue has spent hours taking amateur shots with her mobile phone - if the picture is not very good it is probably by Sue!
