All the pubs and cafes have toilets but most are for customers only. We think Prestons cafe toilets are possibly the nicest in England, let alone Ashbourne - they are not convenient for the town centre, but worth a special visit.

You don't need to purchase to use Sainsbury's, M&S or Aldi but it would be polite to do so.  Aldi is disabled only.

The Tissington trail car park toilet is free but only open during daylight hours. Shawcroft has a small charge and is locked at night.

There is a summer toilet in the recreation grounds near the playground and visitors may use the Pavilion whenever it is open. Otherwise the nearest public toilets to the children's playground are Shawcroft.

There are also loos at the leisure centre and the nice staff on reception will usually let you in if you ask nicely (as will Ashbourne Medical Practice). The library also has loos.
