Follow the B5035 signposted to Wirksworth. The very steep & narrow road at Godfreyhole takes you to the main car park, or for a less challenging road continue on and turn right at Middleton traffic lights.
Wirksworth can easily be included in a fabulous all day round trip taking in the Tissington Trail and the High Peak Trail.
It's too far to walk.

Wirkworth is worth a day trip at any time of year but especially when the art festival or open gardens are on. Attractions in the town include
/ The Ecclesbourne steam railway which runs to Duffield along the scenic Ecclesborne valley.
/ The Steeple Grange light railway which winds through the old quarries.
/ The stardisc which is best visited on a moonlit night.
Plus quirky shops with an emphasis on eco and fairtrade, cobbled streets, museum, quarry walks and more. The main road is flat but surrounding streets rise steeply and the walk to the stardisc is only for the fit & active.
The renowned art festival hosts exhibits in private houses giving the curious visitor a chance to see behind closed doors.
