All the long stay car parks also allow short stay.

Parking charges

All these car parks have the same charges and give the choice of pay & display (cash only, no cards) or pay by phone.

Parking is free for Derbyshire Dales residents before 11 and after 4, when displaying the window sticker.

1. Shaw Croft DE6 1GH

Shaw Croft is the biggest car park in Ashbourne. It's the one you will tend to find and use as a first time visitor but alas, it is limited to 4 hours. Follow this link for more information.

2. Bus station DE6 1BW

Accessed from King Edward Street, the bus station car park is limited to 4 hours.

3. Market Place DE6 1EU

The market place car park is the first one you will find if arriving in Ashbourne from Buxton direction. It's limited to 2 hours and gets very busy. If it's full then follow the one way system to Shaw Croft or try Auction Close.

Free short-stay parking

a. Sainsbury's DE6 1AA

Sainsbury's car park offers 2 hours free, using APNR for enforcement. There is no requirement to be a customer but it would be polite to buy something.

b. Roadside parking

There is lots of free short stay roadside parking and if you are prepared to drive around you are sure to find somewhere.

• Station Road - 1 hour - just a few spaces - next to the Methodist Church.
• Church Street - 1 hour - just a few spaces - opposite the Methodist Church.
• School Lane - 2 hours - by St Oswalds Church.
• Mayfield Road - 1 hour - by the school.
• Compton - herringbone and parallel spaces - 1 hour.
• Cokayne Avenue - 1 hour.
